Do you live in LaSalle Park neighborhood? Do you want a tree? Come join us at the Charles Black Community Center (3419 W Washington St) for an open house on Thursday, July 9th (5pm - 9pm) to learn more.
- This open house will talk about plantings in the neighborhood
- We will gather information from neighbors on priority areas and who may be interested in volunteering
- Goal is to align tree plantings with the overall neighborhood plan
NNN Urban Tree Canopy Open House
Do you live in the Near Northwest Neighborhood? An NNN-specific Open House will be held July 15th, 6:00PM-7:30PM, at the NNN Community Center (1013 Portage Ave)
- This open house will talk about plantings in the neighborhood
- We will gather information from neighbors on priority areas and who may be interested in volunteering
- Goal is to align tree plantings with the overall neighborhood plan
Project Learning Tree Training
Project Learning Tree (PLT) is an award-winning environmental education initiative designed for educators, parents, and community leaders working with youth from Kindergarten to12th grade. The curriculum and activities can also be used to engage people during community outreach events. PLT advances environmental literacy, stewardship, and career pathways, using trees and forests as windows on the world.
Shirley Heinze Land Trust and the St. Joseph County Soil & Water Conservation District are hosting this 1-day training event for teachers, educators, and community partners involved with the City of South Bend's urban tree canopy initiative.
