Project Purpose
As part of its implementation of the West Side Main Streets Plan for Lincolnway West, the City of South Bend is making streetscape improvements to create an environment more inviting to commercial and residential investment. The project also adds further safety enhancements, particularly for people on foot and or on a bicycle.
Project Scope
Streetscape enhancements are being made to the two-block section of Lincolnway West between Fremont and Elmer Streets.

Additionally, decorative roadway lighting is being installed on Lincolnway West between Elmer and O’Brien Streets to replace the streetlights on utility poles there.

Access to properties will be maintained throughout the project. Use of driveway approaches will be restricted during removal, installation, and during the curing period after installation. Every effort will be made to minimize interruption to property access for residents, customers, employees, and deliveries.
