PROJECT BACKGROUND
As part of its implementation of the Southeast Neighborhood Master Plan, the City of South Bend is making streetscape improvements along Dubail Ave between Michigan and Miami streets. Per the master plan, these improvements focus on providing a sense of place and improving walkability and bike-ability.
PROJECT AREA The project area will be made to the 10-block section of Dubail Ave between Michigan & Miami streets. Street trees will be planted within the tree lawn (area between curb and sidewalk) in May 2022.

PROJECT SCHEDULE
Phased construction is scheduled to begin before end of October 2021. Work on the following phase to begin once current phase is complete. All dates are subject to change.

PROPERTY ACCESS
Access to properties will be maintained throughout the project. Driveway approaches will be restricted during removal and installation. Every effort will be made to minimize interruption to property access for residents, customers, employees, and deliveries.

The Southeast Neighborhood is located just south and east of downtown South Bend. It is bounded by Sample Street to the north, Miami Street to the east, Ewing Avenue to the south and Michigan Street to the west. It is immediately adjacent to Michigan Street which is a major north/south corridor that goes through downtown South Bend and extends north into the state of Michigan and to the south towards Indianapolis.
